The Center for Genomic Gastronomy’s Libraries are traveling archives that popup and unpack to display a collection of books, prints, objects and videos of CGG’s work to date.
The original Library was designed as a shipping crate to be shipped any where in the world and easily assembled. It contained two-dimensional, three-dimensional and moving image pieces. This library also included a “Projects Booklet” that functions as a reference guide to the library. The container was fabricated in collaboration with Matthew Williams in Portland, Oregon and originally installed at the VIDA 15.0: Art & Artificial Life exhibition after the Center was awarded the VIDA People’s Choice award in 2013. The updated Library 2.0 was displayed at the DiVinci Festival 2019 in Seoul, South Korea.
