The Center for Genomic Gastronomy’s Libraries are traveling archives that popup and unpack to display a collection of books, prints, objects and videos of CGG’s work to date.
The original Library was designed as a shipping crate to be shipped any where in the world and easily assembled. It contained two-dimensional, three-dimensional and moving image pieces. This library also included a “Projects Booklet” that functions as a reference guide to the library. The container was fabricated in collaboration with Matthew Williams in Portland, Oregon and originally installed at the VIDA 15.0: Art & Artificial Life exhibition after the Center was awarded the VIDA People’s Choice award in 2013. The updated Library 2.0 was displayed at the DaVinci Creative Festival 2019 in Seoul, South Korea.
