The Library is a traveling archive in the form of a shipping crate that unpacks to display elements of the Center for Genomic Gastronomy’s work to date.
The pop-up library is designed to be shipped any where in the world and easily assembled. It contains two-dimensional, three-dimensional and moving image pieces. The library includes a “Projects Booklet” that functions as a reference guide to the library.
The container was fabricated in collaboration with Matthew Williams, a craftsperson in Portland, Oregon. The library was originally installed at the VIDA 15.0: Art & Artificial Life exhibition after the Center was awarded the VIDA People’s Choice award in 2013.
